IBM PC version of Quad
IBM PC version of Quad
Quad is a version of 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe published by Acorn Software Products for the TRS-80 and IBM PC. As in 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe, the goal of the game is to place X's and O's on a three dimensional board with a 4x4x4 grid and be the first player to get four in a row. The four X's or O's can be in any direction and be on a single level in the board or across all four levels. On each turn, players enter three numbers indicating the coordinates of their move (level, row, and column). The game can be played by two human players, a human against the computer, or the computer against itself.

Quad includes a few additional features as well. The view of the board can be rotated along any axis, players can review previous moves or back up to a previous turn to correct a mistakes, the computer's skill level can be modified, the order of the player's turns can be modified, and players can switch places with their opponent.
