Adventures in Math for the IBM PC

Adventures in Math is a simple educational game released by IBM in 1983. In the game players take on the role of an adventurer exploring a castle; the goal is to locate the exit while earning as many points as possible. The game presents a first-person viewpoint of each castle room and allows players to use the arrow keys to navigate. To continue through doors and to collect treasure, players need to provide the correct answer to mathematical problems that appear before they can continue. If players answer incorrectly, they can try again however in some cases a spider appears and the treasure will be lost. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems are all available in the game; players can choose to solve one specific types of problem, or have all types mixed in. The size of the castle can also be selected to adjust the game length and difficulty.
