The Covox Sound Master Plus is an 8-bit sound card released by Covox, Inc. in 1991.
The card uses the Yamaha YM3812 chip for FM synthesis which provides up to 11 simultaneous
voices (either 9 channels of sound, or 6 channels of sound with 5 percussive instruments)
and also includes an 8-bit DAC for mono digitized sounds. Unlike other cards in the Covox lineup, the
Covox Sound Master Plus did not include joystick ports. The card was very similar in capability
to the Sound Blaster, although it was not compatible
with it.
