Most arcade games simply used a monitor (or, in a few cases, several monitors) to display information for the player.
In some cases, games included additional information not displayed on the monitor via another means.
Common techniques include using indicator lamps, logos or icons on the bezel or marquee that are backlit
(similar to that of earlier pinball games), or one or more fourteen-segment displays to have
information such as the score displayed off of the monitor.
