Some games (especially those from Adventure International) for the TI-99/4 and TI-99/4A computers were released in a format where part of the game was on a cartridge and the other part was on a cassette tape; Both parts were needed to play the game. The cartridge contained the core interpreter which was common across multiple games, while the cassette tape contained game specific data. This allowed the game to be larger than otherwise would be possible with a cartridge alone, and the cartrige component also provided an additional 6 KB of memory for the game to utilize.
